Magical water of Lake Tahoe

One of my happiest places on this planet is swimming in the crystal clear waters of Lake Tahoe, California. This place is truly otherworldly. Every time I enter this water, I feel cleansed by its magic and infused with fresh energy. It feels as if my cells are being renewed and there is a beautiful exchange happening between myself and the water. I feel it drawing out impurities, pain, and any illness, while my skin absorbs a new perspective—a harmonious, sacred energy, much like how we breathe in oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide for the trees.

I believe that water has profound healing energies and powers. Water holds memory, which for me means that is also holds the codes and frequencies of remembering paradise on earth. After my spiritual awakening I started to feel this way and noticed this when I would be near or in clear and fresh bodies of water, especially Tahoe. Ever since I tuned to this awareness, I began to intentionally work with water to nurture my own healing processes.

Letting the magic in

I think that magic is all around us and that we can align with it through practice and will. This is why whenever I am doing any kind of healing or energy work, such as with the water, I begin with the desire to fully open my heart and surrender to the present moment. I set the intention and give permission for the water to dissolve and purify any aches, discomforts, or trapped feelings that are in my mind, body, and heart. I blissfully connect and remain as present and as open minded as I can. As I glide around and play in the water, I start to feel pain and sorrow dissolve like sugar as I surrender to being baptized by the universe. In this way I always come out feeling new and free..

It is pure joy. My skin glows radiantly and I feel reborn in some way. I feel younger as I step back on shore. Maybe tales of miracle potions aren’t so far off, maybe they are all around us.

My heavy thoughts transform into feelings of clarity and love. Nature is a greatest healer and is a physical reflection of the greatest power that lives within every spirit.

Places I love in Tahoe

Since we are talking about Lake Tahoe of course I want to share a few of my personal favorite spots with you:

  • Donner Lake - Sitting on the docks lining the side of the lake off Donner Pass road is one of my favorite ways to spend my hours when I’m in the area. I love to lay out on my towel on the docks and soak up the warm sun with an iced coffee and a bagel sandwich from Wild Cherries, which is just right down the road.

  • Wild Cherries Coffee - Thank me later, a trip through Truckee just isn’t complete without stopping here.

  • Truckee River - The river water reminds me of jello and the sun sparkles like diamonds as the light glitters on the surface. This is a lazy river, perfect for a relaxing float with a group of friends, or just pulling up on the side of the bank and finding a nice little set up somewhere to chill. The bike/walking trail along the river makes discovering a nice spot pretty easy

  • Incline Village - Very charming area with little restaurants, cafes, and local shops — found a great smoothie/juice place last time called Thania’s Juice Bar

  • Sand Harbor - Just an all around magical place, gets really busy though so plan to arrive early. Parking is 10-20 dollars and they only take cash, at least last time I checked

  • Secret Cove - One of my favorite, favorite spots. A short hike, dog friendly, gets busy, definitely do more research before going. There is some walking required to reach the cove, also clothing is optional at this one

  • Zephyr Cove (North Beach) - This place feels marvelous! I love that there is a little rock island that you can walk out to. The water is shallow to walk across to the island if you start on the shore that’s right across from it. People are really nice and welcoming there, definitely a family place, except on busier times like holidays… fun, but can be chaotic at those times. PS, if you can’t find parking in the actual lot there is a residential street called Warrior Way right across the highway, where you will see Zephyr Cove Elementary School and you can park anywhere over there (summer time while the school is out)
